before fashion week fall 2010 left ny and bryant park, i decided to try to play "the sartorialist." i'm not sure why it didn't occur to me head over there earlier in the week--even though it isn't really my scene, i should have known it would be ripe for photo-ops. so many things to catch the eye--color, pattern, contrast. so many surprising and bold no-nos (and laughs), a few real beauties, and many, many people who want more than anything to be photographed and fawned over. (i prefer those who don't want it so badly, yet won't begrudge you the shot.) i found a little of all of that.
i don't have shots of any "famous" types, but russellsimmons, tommyhilfiger, and i think hamishbowles, and other industry types walked right by me. meh. there were so many attendees coming from all directions, and the crowd of us could get easily diverted. i was much more interested in the regulars, anyway.
