
jess has a new recipe and video for "lumberjack day," and even though accuweather is telling me the weekend will be a little summery here in nyc, i may try it out. i am a hungry girl these days. we ate the stack that jess made for the shoot--they were substantial, yet light, and a touch sweet. we ate them cold (!), with real butter and some exceedingly tart pomegranate syrup, the kind of tart that sends you a-wincing. the contrast (inspired purely by and for the photo shoot) is the right idea. but i'm sure a more traditional pairing, with a sea of maple syrup (and a side of crisp bacon) will be very good, too.
